Terms and conditions for using UpdateRelay

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UpdateRelay's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

Service Description

UpdateRelay provides code change monitoring, AI-powered update drafting, and update distribution services. We help teams communicate product changes effectively through various channels.

User Responsibilities

As a user of UpdateRelay, you agree to:

  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Review AI-generated content before publication
  • Ensure you have necessary rights to share code metadata
  • Not use the service for unauthorized or illegal purposes
  • Notify us of any security vulnerabilities you discover

Intellectual Property

Ownership and rights regarding service usage:

  • You retain all rights to your code and content
  • AI-generated summaries can be freely modified and used by you
  • Our service, branding, and technology remain our property
  • You grant us limited rights to process your data for service delivery

Service Modifications

We may modify the service by:

  • Adding or removing features
  • Changing or upgrading AI providers
  • Updating integration methods
  • Modifying user interfaces

Support and Maintenance

Our support commitments include:

  • Email support during business hours for Pro accounts
  • Priority support for Enterprise accounts
  • Regular system maintenance and updates
  • Security patch deployment
  • Documentation updates

Dispute Resolution

In the event of disputes:

  • We encourage direct communication first to resolve any issues amicably
  • If a dispute cannot be resolved through direct communication, it will be resolved through the courts of England and Wales
  • Legal proceedings must be filed within one year of the dispute arising
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under English law

Subscription and Payments

  • Pro accounts are billed via credit/debit card through Stripe
  • Enterprise accounts may pay via credit/debit card or bank transfer
  • Accounts will be suspended after 4 failed payment attempts
  • Customers may cancel their subscription at any time
  • Enterprise pricing is governed by individual contracts

Service Level Agreement

We maintain a 99.9% uptime SLA (or as specified in enterprise contracts). Pro-rata refunds will be issued for missed SLA targets.

Limitation of Liability

UpdateRelay's maximum liability for any claims is limited to three months of subscription fees. This includes but is not limited to service disruptions, data issues, or other service-related problems.

Prohibited Uses

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

  • Attempting to compromise our systems
  • Using AI systems for unintended purposes
  • Content related to pornography, drugs, or gambling
  • Any illegal activities

Account Termination

UpdateRelay reserves the right to terminate accounts at our discretion. Users may terminate their account at any time by canceling their subscription.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Change of Ownership

In the event of an acquisition or ownership change, these terms will remain in effect unless modified by new ownership.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
